                                            My Family

I have this seasonal cold that is being very unfriendly to my sinuses right now and yet I am compelled to post my first post in almost a year.

This is  my son Tyson & his wife Cassie Carthel, and this is what I think is beautiful. These two are love birds no doubt about it. Their love story, that finally lead them to the alter 4-13-13, was one of ups-and-downs, forgiveness, and hope, and that their dreams could come true together; all the while knowing that the road might be bumpy alone the way and still choosing to make that journey together. Tyson I'm so happy that you and Cassie found each other.
This is my Mom. Her life story could make the best sellers list...which is a thought! She is young at heart, and lives life everyday like it could be her last. I aspire to be like that which is something my sister has learned already and I will forever stand/sit watching while they race around attending to the very important tasks that can not be put off; like canning relish, making bread, doing laundry, or knitting a washcloth...and that's all before breakfast. I love you Mom!

Abigail, have you heard the saying "she can light up a room" well, she can! My niece Abi is 5 years old. She is already very smart and starts her day the same way her mother does, EARLY! They both hit the ground running! I don't know if Abi's running from Angie or if Angie's running from Abi! They make quite a team all-and-all, and Abi is learning how to cook and clean and take care of animals, And, she already helps in the garden. One could say she is an old-fashioned child but she is also very tech savvy! She can work an ipad like a pro...she has already figured out that if you have the right password you can purchase games! Who knew!! She does! God bless you Angie, God bless!! I love this girl, always!

Angie; she looks like an Angie. Do you know an Angie who isn't strong and tenacious to a fault? She bears the toughest armor ever built by any human being I know, and If she lets you in don't take it for granted instead listen, and take notes! She has great advice when she wants to give it. If she doesn't have anything to say it just means she's trying to help with out hurting you with stupid empty words...if she says it she's probably thought about it and means it. I love this lady and she shares my DNA and we are closer then tights on an elephant. I love you, sister!
This is me, I like this picture because my hair is longer and right now it's short... and I don't like it Frankly!

This is Elijah, he was a conscience warrior...he fought his conscience daily, his wounds were apparent and eventually he lost the battle. On clear days he was a big hug. He had beautiful sad brown eyes & almond-dew-like skin...a joke a minute, he could dish em' out but couldn't take one. He knew the words to "shall we gather at the river" and he wanted to swim in the river of life without coming up for air...we planned our agenda for when we got to heaven. We'd fly to every planet, and meet our favorite bible guys we'd eat every kind of fruit and pet the lions. Then we would frustrate our little brains with forever and ever. Elijah is also proof of my parents love for each other, as are me and my sister.

Tyson, first love of my life. Perfect as far a earthly standards. Like my sister Angie, he is locked up tight. That's what happens when you feel like you are the only one who can protect you. Tyson has a mind that is constantly creating, and sometimes when he's talking to me I can see him searching for comprehension in my eyes... I hear you Tyson...I'm listening to you, and when you talk to me I replay it over and over because I treasure you.
Dru, baby blue I love you. Gentle giant. Dru is harder on himself then you could ever be. He will laugh and joke about things that make people uncomfortable but stick up for those who are being picked on. Tender hearted to a fault, his friends are king and he is always there. I love that he answers the phone when I call, even if he just fell asleep. I want to protect him even though he wears a thick skin and is 6'3.
He remembers like an elephant and tells it like a peacock. He's naturally smart and could ace any class if he wanted to... why doesn't he want to?  He is a necessary part of my life and I feel blessed.
This is my other half and we are one. Guy holds me up, and keeps me sane. He is my love, and I love the way he loves me.

What a trip!

( my sister Angie,  me & my mom)
I took a trip to my sisters place this month. She lives in the panhandle of Idaho near the Idaho Washington border. I needed some girl time, and I really missed my mom and sister and niece Abigail.

Can you imagine this being your everyday scenery!!

We went camping over the Memorial weekend

This is a camping area near St. Marie's.

My Dad and his wife came over from Oregon to camp with us. He and I love to take walks together. I will always treasure our visits. We talk about God and family, and the good ol' days. ♥

Bruce, my dad, and Bruces' uncle Ed raised a flag in honor of Memorial day. I love the different traditions families have.

This is my 76 year old Dad chopping wood.

This is a picture I took with my android razor, not to shabby, eh?

I love the farm land in the palouse. The old farm houses, and farms still in use, warms my heart and makes me miss the slower days.

My sister, Mom, Abi, and me, went to Rockford Washington to Hurds Mercantile. This is a shop I love to visit every time I come to my sisters' place. I always thought I would open a shop one day, and if I did, this shop is what it would look like. :) If you're ever in the area stop by and visit Hurds; I'm pretty sure you'll be hook too! :)

I thought this was so cute when my niece was dialing the "old" phone with the rotary dial...I remember using one everyday back in the70's-80's.  Lol!!

Love this sweet picture of my sister and niece sharing an ice-cream moment, Sweet!! ;)
In Texas we don't have Cherry or Butterscotch dipped cones at our Dairy Queens, sOo, you know I've got to get one when I get the chance!! Mmmm

While I was there I got to go to my nieces ballet recital. She is so graceful and precious! My mom and sister braided her hair and wove ribbon in...she looked perfect!!

This is the one of the views from my sisters house.
I had such a wonderful time with my family and I'm so glad that I was able to visit. I look forward to our next visit!!

You've got mail

piccsy.com
I love mail, and to think that someone took time out to put their thoughts down on paper or e-mail, and then send them out to the ones they love is the best thing ever!  I love the people in my life, and I want them to be a part of  my life, and to know what I'm thinking about. So, if you're thinking about someone special or you haven't heard from a friend in awhile drop them a line, and let them know that you are thinking about them; repair connections, or strengthen bonds by letting people know that you care about them and that they're special to you!  I bet before you know it you'll have mail too!!

Let it go folks!

pinterest

How often do we find ourselves thinking about the past? Not just the-days-gone-by kinda past, but the kinda past you just wish you could go back and change.

pinterest
...and if we think about it long and hard enough we just might magically change it...HA!! NOT- gonna-happen folks!!

pinterest
So much valuable time wasted thinking about things we just can't change... no-matter what!

pinterest
I mean, it's like being kicked in the pants by a billy goat, and then turning around and letting him do it again! No more, I say, let the bruises of the past heal, For-The-Love!!!

pinterest
Never find yourself  down-wind of your past...it's just stinkin' thinkin', y'alls!!

pinterest
♥ Replace painful memories of the past with beautiful thoughts for the future, and enjoy the present. ♥
Have a blessed day, I insist!!

Modern Rustic style

I've always gravitated to the earthy-jewel-toned colors; all  the colors that you might find naturally in nature. I also enjoy seeing the cool electric colors that are invented but I don't think I could live with them.

Here is a modern sophisticated rustic living room. I love the warmth of this space with it's chocolate colored smooth leather chairs, and knobby rug. I especially like the real-life-art work over the fireplace.

This room is packed full of color! But, if you'll notice they've kept it in the same color tones so nothing stands out on it's own.

I was attracted to the rustic ornate hooks here and the antique mirror.

I just love the clean lines here. Notice the wood was kept light, keeping the space airing, not heavy or dark.

I love this idea!

Modern, yet rustic. A very inviting space! I could chat-it-up with friends here!

Look at these pendent lights in this kitchen. I love the native american touch in this kitchen. The earthy rustic accessories mixed with an all-white-kitchen and marble top bar. Beautiful and clean.

What a simple way to bring nature into a living space.

Put a stump by your bed then cut out a design from a sheet of galvanized metal. Throw a chenille bedspread over a neutral colored comforter, and a few colorful throw pillows, and you'll have this room! ;)

The muted almost sun-drenched colors in this room makes it feel so peaceful.

Hope you've enjoyed my take on modern rustic.
